About Harbor 25
When you look beyond the classic beauty of this stunning new design, you find a performance hull shape, an amazingly roomy cockpit that comfortably seats six, and a beautifully finished interior.
Most important of all, sailing is fun and easy. The Harbor 25 has a self-tacking jib with a roller furler and lazy jacks for the main. It also has an inboard engine, a head compartment, and bunks for naps and overnight cruising. The design incorporates a lean hull shape, a fine bow and firm bilges, a 49% ballast ratio, and a bulb keel to keep the weight low. A generous sail plan provides plenty of horsepower, yet the crew of the Harbor 25 will never be required to sit on the deck.
The deck of the Harbor 25 features a well-designed foredeck, useable weather decks, an attractive trunk cabin, a wide companionway, and an aft deck with a large lazarette hatch which opens to storage below. All of the sail control lines are led to the cockpit within easy reach, so the cockpit is clutter-free and well-engineered for delightful single-handed sailing.
A Sailor’s Cockpit
Since the cockpit is the best place to be on a beautiful day, the Harbor 25 boasts an 8’ cockpit that comfortably seats at least six people. Most important of all, the boat has been designed specifically to maintain proper trim, even with a cockpit full of friends. Everyone sits inside on bench seats with high coamings, where they will be dry and comfortable.
1,900 Pound Keel & Spade Rudder
The bulb keel is designed to provide the Harbor 25 with good stability and great handling characteristics. The leading edge is swept 33° so weed will shed. The lead is set in a fiberglass shell, and the keel is attached with stainless steel keel bolts.
The rudder is placed far aft for excellent control. It is fiberglass with a stainless steel rudder stock. The tiller forks are also stainless steel, and the tiller is laminated and varnished wood.
The Harbor 25 is equipped with a Yanmar 2YM15 diesel with a SD20 saildrive. This is a 2 cylinder, 4 stroke engine. It is fuel injected and is equipped with a 60 amp alternator, fresh water cooling, and a stainless steel two-blade folding propeller.
